Reconditioning of Separator cage wheel in cement mill

Salient features of X’tralife treatment

  • Wear and breakage on spokes, base plate and blade were observed due to severe erosion in component used in cement mill.
  • The wear was caused by dynamic loading and metal to metal contact during service conditions.
  • Performance life of the component was around 5 years and after reconditioning of rotor cage with X’tralife product and carrying out DP/UT test and NDT test the performance life has been observed more than 2 years. This has resulted in immense cost-effectiveness for the plant.
  • The solution in terms of repair and reclamation aware society to adapt better metallurgical upgrades and innovative processes to improve the availability of the plant and machinery.
