XL-C40

General Characteristics :

XL-C40 is a specially formulated alloy electrode for repair and fabrication of cast-iron components and for the joining of castiron to steel and cast steel. It is specially designed for porosity free weld overlay on cast irons. The electrode can be used without preheat and gives a medium strength machinable weld metal. The smallest possible electrode dia. and the lowest possible welding current should be used in order to limit the width of the heat affected zone.

Applications :

XL-C40 is suitable for machine tool bases and frames repair, bearing areas on castings, Hubs for large parts, Tables, rollers etc. Specially suitable for weld overlay of hubs and tables of vertical mills.

Mechanical Properties :

• Tensile Strength : up to 55 Kgf/mm²
• Elongation : approx. 25 %
