DF-6031

General Characteristics :

DF-6031 has been developed specially for the forging industries. It is utilized for partial repair and for finishing dies and component surfaces,to eliminate low spots, and undercuts where flood welding has been performed. DF-6031 is heat treatable chromium, nickel, vanadium alloy which exhibits good wear resistance at events temperature upto 1050°F. The low carbon martens tic structure yields a tough medium strength deposit which is suitable for corrosion and erosion environments. Deposits a fine grained martensite micro structure which displayed good thermal fatigue resistance.

Applications :

Die casting dies, shafts, fractured tools and dies. Highly suitable for forging dies build up. Excellent for use as an underlay on crack sensitive alloys.

• Hardness of the weld metal (as deposited) : 36-40 Rc
