XPL-6000

General Description :

XPL-6000 is specially formulated 100% solids epoxy, reinforced with screened treated micronized glass flakes cured with a special polyamine hardener to give extra chemical corrosion resistance.

Benefit & Features :
  • Provides a tough impermeable barrier suitable for steel (Pipeline internal & external, ship, tank internal & external, structural coating etc. And concret surfces with excellent adhesion.
  • Provides extended life of protective coating because of dispersed glass flakes through the coating, which prevents the ingress of water vapor and chemical solutions. These glass flakes form a tortuous path of platelets within the coating film, which is totally impervious to moisture, vapor and are highly chemical
    resistant.
  • Provides prevention from cracking and peeling because glass flakes provides a thermal stabilization layer in the protective coating and greatly reduces the risk of cracking and peeling of the coating due to thermal shock. Superior adhesion is achieved by the surface tension effect of the screened particles of glass flake.
  • Provide improved wear & tear resistance because glass flakes increases the hardness of epoxy resin coatings, giving higher resistance to surface wear.
  • Excellent resistance to marine, aqueous and several chemical corrosive & abrasion environments.
  • Low maintenance and ease of reparability makes it an asset for the offshore platforms.
  • In case of heave damage, cleaning the damaged area, feathering the surrounding coating and recoating to form the original long lasting protection can be easily done for repair of the coating.
Applications :

Stir the contents of each component properly with broad, flat stirrer. Mix the base and hardener in recommended ratio preferably with power stirrer. Allow the mixture to mature for 15 minutes before application.
Brush : For touching up small areas only where spraying is not possible. Multiple coats may be required to achieve desired thickness.
