XL-D59 is a rutile coated electrode for the reinforcement of cutting edges on tool bodies made of low alloyed or unalloyed or steels and for the lining of cold and hot cutting tools. Excellent results have been achieved with-resistant facings, for instance with hammers. The weld deposit can be heat treated like a tool steel of similar composition like E 18 Co 5 and by means of tempering a hardness of 63-66 HRC is achieved.
