XL-C36

General Characteristics :

XL-C36 is a specially developed electrode for welding of high strength cast irons. It is highly suitable for joining on all malleable types of cast iron. The electrode has excellent welding properties and produces smooth seams without transverse under cuts. Inspite of the high elongation, the weld deposit is crack resistant. Weld metal is also having excellent machining properties.

Applications :

XL-C36 is suitable for Machine tool bases and frames, repair of foundry defect, Exhaust manifolds, Cast iron components, build-up worn out surfaces, Oil and grease sumps, Gear and bearing cases, Iron / steel construction and connections, Valve bodies, etc.

Mechanical Properties :

• Tensile Strength : up to 500 N/mm²
• Yield Strength  : up to 350 N/mm²
• Elongation  : approx. 25 %
• Hardness  : approx. 180 HB
