High wear resistant hard facing alloy with Tungsten carbide deposit in an Iron matrix. Suitable for the lining of tools, for rotary drilling or piercing and for mining. Unalloyed or Low alloyed steels are suitable as base material. The alloy is deposited by means of autogenously torch welding under warming-up of the cleaned surface and welding to the left with 2 to 3-times of gas surplus. The alloy is available with different grain sizes. The smaller grain size (0.5) is employed in case of high friction wear. The coarser grain sizes (mostly 2.00mm) is used in case the surface must have cutting edges with good gripping properties.
Hard facing on tools for drilling, and piercing and for mining. Extremely useful for erosion resistant coatings on fan blades.
