General characteristics

XL-CP-18 OA The weld deposit gives 18/8/6 — Cr/ Ni /Mn deposit with resistance to corrosion and cavitations. This material has an austenitic work hardening deposit. The weld deposit work hardens when subjected to impact or rolling loads. Deposit gives good tensile strength with elongation.

Applications

Used to joining of armor plates and difficult to weld steels. Also used for heavy structural fabrications, booms. Also it can be used to weld reclaim 13% Mn steel used in rock crushing plant and earth moving equipment. Suitable for buffering difficult repairs in restrained structures and deep cavities in low alloy steel castings. Also, It can be used as a surfacing consumable that work hardens from 200 to 450 Hv, suitable for repair of alloy rails, crossing points, etc. without preheat .
